A little bit about me.
I was born and raised in Panama (Central America) and I identify as an Afro-Latinx woman. I am fluent in Spanish (native language) and English. I have experienced the Panamanian, Canadian, and American education systems. My higher education studies focused on business administration (concentration: international business) and instructional design and technology (concentration: simulations in education and training).
I have published two edited books and over 40+ journal articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, and columns. I participated and presented in more than 60+ peer-reviewed presentations in regional, national, and international conferences. I have been invited as guest speaker, keynote speaker, and plenary at regional and international events in online and in-person formats. My contributions to the field are not limited to publications; I have also aimed to advance research in the field through my service as President of the Research and Theory Division (2016-2017) of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT).
